Did you read my post about the Green Machine? Well here is another nostalgic blog for you youngins as well as Oldheads.

The year is 1989 and I just got my NES for christmas and my mom promised to buy me more games later (for the record its 2008 and I still only have duck hunt/Super Mario Bros.), but until then I worked on my batering skills and it eventually netted me Bionic Commando in exchange for 6 hours of my bike rental...Yes! After a few blows (more on that later) I'm on my way....swinging, hanging, scaling buildings and picking up goodies that were far out of the reach of the average commando. I never did figure out how the bad guys were able to parachute undegrround though....

I still have a Nintendo in my studio, but Bionic Commando is long gone and I honestly stopped weeping until I seen that they are bringing it back! That's right the 2008 Bionic Commando is upon us gamers. I swiped this trailer from another oldhead gamer on Twitter:

and here is some gameplay footage to hold you over until you cop your own. I think it's for XBox as well as the PS3 (too lazy to research) ENJOY!!! I hope they don't kill my memories and love for this game.

In case you didn't know I'm from the south...waay down south (What up to Blakely G.A) so it's needless to say that I came up on booty shake (Bass music if you will). Until I moved away to Colorado I thought the whole world listened to this music and there was nothing else until I heard P.E (more on that in another post). This is a group that I loved in the early 90's and they hold slot 20 of my favorite songs of all times with "Bit@# That I Hate". Just like most rap groups Poison Clan broke up and even though JT Money went on to have a semi successful solo career those of us that know The Clan knew that they would never top their group efforts. I will speak on Debonaire and his efforts in a later post so be sure to come back and "Pick It Up".

In case you didn't know I am a true Hip Hop head...I'll battle anybody!!

So...me and my crew Incognito were working on a script to a movie we were actively calling "What The Sunset Brings" and after about 2 months all we had was a dope ass intro to the future box office smash that was based on a group of urban teenagers trying to find themselves as they wondered aimlessly through life. In the middle of what had to be edit number 50 of that dope intro we caught wind that a new movie with Tupac was coming out and it was called "Juice" so we thought hey it's a Hip Hop joint so let's go peep it. Remember we were in a small German town so "our" type of movies came few and far between. The movie was great, but we were highly pissed off because that dope ass intro that I spoke of earlier....was identical to the intro to this movie including the scene with Raheem in the bathroom. WTF?!?!? How could this be?

Eventually we charged it to great minds thinking alike cliche and 16 years later we still have that dope intro...and nothing more. Look for our movie in 2015, but until then enjoy this stream of "Juice" one of my favorite joints.

I posted this movie last year to school a few other youngins that wondered what things like jack the rapper was. Anyway I remember like it was yesterday watching this documentary in the theaters. "The Show" documentary was a lot better but if you missed this era in Hip Hop then you have to go back and do the knowledge. every rapper from the early 90's is in here and they even talk about Biggie right before he blew. Enjoy

Do other races really want to know how it is to be black in America? Do some black people really want to know? I've pondered on this for a few weeks now and tonight I guess we will see and I can only base this on the conversations to be had in the up coming days. I will be listening to the Q100's and the 95 The Beats as well as the usual talk radio shows just to see if any non-urban stations will make this series a talk point. Even though I will DVR the show I will be rushing (not speeding though) home to watch it live just hoping that it will not be censored to death. I want them to talk about the real profiling that we are subjected too. The "catching a cab downtown" issue and most importantly let's talk about how some black people hate black people too (they will not watch anyway). I want people to speak up on how we've been programmed to wear masks when we go out in public in order to "fit in" or make "others" feel as less threatened as possible. Let's talk about why my daughter goes to school and is focused on education and her diction and vocabulary is superb yet she is ridiculed by other black kids and told over and over that she's acting "white" what is that? That's really a rhetorical question because this has been going on for decades I got the same thing when I was in school and like I tell my daughter these are kids of those ignorant kids I attended class with. When does it end?

I will save some of my thoughts for after the series airs, but until then I want you to listen to this kid Sergeant Willie Pete. I like most first heard him in his heated rant about Lauren London and her ignorant comments in King Magazine about liking thugs especially the fictitious character O-Dog from Menace to Society. Well he has over 400 other post and the one I've found most interesting so far is the one about how we have to wear that mask and people not understanding why. It's a lengthy listen, but a very interesting to those they may not live this mask life that most of us do.

Beijing authorities are secretly planning to ban black people and others it considers social undesirables from entering the city's bars during the Olympic Games, a move that would contradict the official slogan, "One World, One Dream".
Bar owners near the Workers' Stadium in central Beijing say they have been forced by Public Security Bureau officials to sign pledges agreeing not to let black people enter their premises.
"Uniformed Public Security Bureau officers came into the bar recently and told me not to serve black people or Mongolians," said the co-owner of a western-style bar, who asked not to be named.
The local authorities have been cracking down on Blacks and Mongolians in an attempt to stamp out drug dealing and prostitution ahead of the Games, the proprietors said.
A few months ago, police launched a violent sting on black men drinking in the Sanlitun bar district, and a notorious nightclub largely populated by Mongolian prostitutes was also shut down.
Security officials are targeting Sanlitun, which Olympic organisers expect to be a key destination for foreign tourists looking for a party during the Games.
The pledges that Sanlitun bar owners had been instructed to sign agreed to stop a variety of activities in their establishments, including dancing and serving customers with black skin, they said.
They have been allowed to keep copies of all the pledges except those relating to blacks, implying that the authorities are wary of charges of racism.
"I am appalled," said a black British national who works in Beijing. "I understand that the government is trying to stop certain illegal activities, but I don't think blanket discrimination is going about it the right way.
"Chinese people are prejudiced, but I would have hoped that the government would set a better example as it debuts on the world stage."
Calls to Dongcheng district and Chaoyang district public security bureaus, which oversee the bar districts, went unanswered.
The authorities' attempt to keep unwanted behaviour from damaging the squeaky-clean image of the Games is the latest example of heavy-handedness that critics say is killing the party spirit of the Olympics.
During the Athens Olympics four years ago, bars and nightclubs were allowed to stay open all night. But venues in Beijing that are not being shut down during the Games will have to close at 2am and maintain tight security.
"The officials told me to inform my customers that they must at all times carry their passports or ID cards," said one bar owner.
"Security is important, but Beijing is becoming a fortress, and that's not attractive."
Rumours that all bars within 2km of an Olympic venue will need to close remain unconfirmed, with many managers complaining that they still have not been told whether they will be allowed to open or not. Several bars have been raided in the past few weeks as local police step up a campaign of low-level intimidation, according to several witness accounts.
Bar and restaurant managers in Sanlitun have been instructed to remove tables from footpaths in a crude attempt to prevent fighting in the streets.
"The local police told us to get rid of the tables because they're scared that if too many foreigners congregate outside there could be trouble," said Song Xun , who runs a burrito joint in the area.
Local musicians say that a clampdown on live music risks stifling Beijing's thriving cultural scene and giving Olympic tourists the false impression that the city is artistically anaemic.
Several popular live music venues have been shut or instructed to stop all outdoor shows, and club owners complain they have got used to strange new guests nursing a beer for hours and suspiciously observing everything around them.
"The whole music scene is angry and bewildered. It is impossible to understand how keeping tourists from seeing an open, culturally vibrant and diverse Beijing is possibly a good thing for anyone," said one well-known figure in the local music industry.
David Mitchell, a Beijing-based jazz musician, said it had become increasingly difficult for his band to find anywhere to play.
"It appears the local government is trying to control every aspect of the experience that foreigners get when they come here," he said.
"Everything is aimed at creating stability, but they don't understand that is precisely the unfounded prejudice that foreigners have of Chinese society - that it is a highly controlled and not a very cultural place. It seems completely self-defeating."

Ok youngins you may need your big brother or better your big sister about this one. In the early 90's we were flooded with r&b quartets, duets and quintets even. everyone ws trying to capture that new Edition energy becuase they were on the brink of breakup and young girls had money to burn and fantasies to fulfill. One of the groups the RCA Records threw into the mix was Faze with an album called Love Games but it was the record Cold Sweat that became a bedroom classic. It only made it to 81 on Billboard, but it held number 1 in my cousins walkman for 7 straight weeks. Unfortuneatly they faded out to never be heard of again, but Cold Sweat lives on in my ipod...If the internet was around in 1991 these kids would have blown up!

Ah man the year was 1980 something and it was about 85degrees outside with a light breeze so it had to be Christmas in South Georgia. This is the day that all the poor kids got to play on the toys their parents took loans out from the local high-interest rate white owned and black gauged companies. Typically the kids rode the $60 bike from Western Auto that only came in Red and Blue, but this year was different. This contraption that sat before me in front of the 8-track player with x-mas lights (no trees for us) on it was what I thought I had to go out and make some white friends in order to enjoy. This is all mine..what? A Green machine! I will love you forever and wash you twice a week too. This was my first official mode of transportation since I had flat feet and couldn't skate too long. I remember coming down hills doing what had to be 15mph and engaging the joystick to bust the biggest Yuee ever seen. What killed when trying to ride back up that darn hill cause the front wheel (i.e the Big Wheel) kept moon walking on me and refused to get a grip. Even at 8 I knew I should have submitted engineering revision to fix that because after a 7 t0 8 month run your Green Machine was dead due to big ass holes in the Big Wheel. I must also mention that it didn't have any brakes.

Now here we are in 2008 and I'm turning into my neighborhood and what do I see? Four kids riding high on Stimulus Checks benefits a.k.a the 2008 Green Machine!
Of course it's expected, but this version is stupid dope! Starting with the Green itself, it's a deeper less puke looking green and it screams luxury (ha). The joysticks are a lot more sturdy with a hand brake now (I ruined a good pair of pro-keds stopping mine). It has a steel frame now and best of all the Big Wheel is a standard rubber one you will find on a bike so now getting up a hill is nothing. I am gonna buy one for my son as soon as I brace myself to shell out around $100 for it. Ah man the Green Machine I still love you.

I always pay with my debit card even though I am constantly worried about people looking over my shoulders with telescopic lenses or someone intercepting the transmission, but I never thought in my advance stage of paranoia or awareness that the crookedness was going just inside of the store (I never go in there to check). Here's is an interesting read from CNN about knowing the difference between cash and credit cause those who do not know can pay as much as 10cents more per gallon.

"I can't wait until I can grow a beard" that's what the 15yr old Antonio used to wish so hard for back in the day. My every hour was dedicated to trying pass my physical body through a time warp directly into 2000 where I would be old enough to do whatever the hell I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. Well I am here to tell you youngins exactly what my mom told me "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it". I would give twice as much as I would have given at 15 to get this facial hair to stop growning. I have to shave with wahl adjustable clippers because if I use a razor I get Pseudofolliculitis barbae (shaving bumps) therefore Im shaving everyday and not to mention my hairline to looking like.....anyway just enjoy your youth.
