Being that I am in this Hip Hop mood I want to put you guys on to who I'm willing to bet my estate will be the next coming since the great Nasir to Hip Hop. This young man is destined to be nothing but greatness not only because he is a direct descendant of African Royalty (Mansa Musa or the fact that he is a self contained musical entity (writes, produces and arranges his own music) and not even his dynamic stage show is the reason he will achieve legendary status within record time. The reason this young virtuoso will rule is because he is everything you are missing in Hip Hop. Fill in this blank: All I need to fall in love with Hip Hop again is ___________. Think of all the classic Hip Hop albums you've heard. What do they have in common? Little to no features! Illmatic = one feature, Ready To Die = one feature so on and so forth. Life The Great released and album a few months back entitled The UltraSound and you guessed it, it only has one feature. Do you understand how much talent one has to have to hold down 60 minutes of music and keep the listeners captivated the entire time? How often do hear concept albums that truly have a concept? This album is superb with it's concept and song selection. I will not go into the break down of tracks, but I will say that it is inspired by the Golden Era of Hip Hop and not in a faddish way.
